Cimas Health Group, a leading private healthcare institution, has once again demonstrated its commitment to improving healthcare delivery in Zimbabwe by supporting the Egypt-Zimbabwe Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Mission (Open Heart Camp 2).

The recent camp, held at Parirenyatwa Hospital, saw 10 Zimbabwean children undergo life-saving cardiac procedures. These children, aged between 6 months and 10 years, were mainly suffering from congenital heart defects.

According to estimates, at least 4,500 children are born with congenital heart disease each year in Zimbabwe.

Cimas Health Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Vuli Ndlovu, emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in healthcare.

"We are proud to support the Open Heart Surgical Camp for the second time, aligning with our purpose to inspire healthier communities.

This initiative not only saves lives but also empowers our surgeons in pediatric cardiac care, a crucial area that remains underdeveloped in our region."

Mr.Ndlovu added, "At Cimas Health Group, we are driven by a profound responsibility to save lives, beyond profit motives.

Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care, Honourable Sleiman Kwidini, commended the role of private sponsors, describing them as exemplary corporate citizens.

"Your contribution defines true corporate citizenship, investing not only in healthcare but also in hope, futures, and the vision of a stronger Zimbabwe."

The Avenues Clinic General Manager, Mrs. Sibusisiwe Ndhlovu, echoed these sentiments, "We strongly believe in partnerships that put people first and our support in this mission reflects our broader commitment to enabling access to specialized care for the most vulnerable members of our society."

This initiative is a prime example of effective public-private sector collaboration, made possible by the Government through the Ministry of Health and Child Care, National Oil Infrastructure Company of Zimbabwe, the Embassy of Egypt in Zimbabwe, the Gift of Life International Foundation of the United States of America, the Rotary Club of Harare Central, and The Avenues Clinic, among others.
