Merck Foundation CEO Dr Rasha Kelej Honoured as One of Africa's Most Influential Leaders

The New African Magazine of UK has recognised Dr Rasha Kelej, CEO of Merck Foundation and President of the "More Than a Mother" campaign, as one of the "100 Most Influential Africans 2025".
This prestigious recognition marks the seventh consecutive year Dr Kelej has been honoured for her outstanding contributions to healthcare and women's empowerment.
She is in esteemed company, joining the likes of the President of Angola Hos Excellency João Lourenço, the President of South Africa, His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa, and the President of Ghana, His Excellency. John Mahama, who are also on the list.
The list of 100 Most Influential Africans 2025 is made up of prominent African Leaders in different sectors such as Public office, Business, Technology, Change Makers, Thinkers and Opinion Shapers, Creative and Sports influencing the communities and sectors with their inspirational work.
The publication's correspondents and collaborators have scanned the length and breadth of the continent to identify 2025's leaders, innovators, and change-makers whose influence and impact continue to drive transformation across Africa and beyond.
Speaking about the recognition, Senator Dr Rasha Kelej, said she is deeply honoured to be recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Africans.
" This acknowledgement reflects our collective efforts to empower women and transform healthcare" said Dr Kelej.
Dr Kelej further emphasised that the recognition is very special to her as it acknowledges the continued efforts to build and strengthen healthcare capacity.
The list of 100 Most Influential Africans 2025 is made up of prominent African Leaders in different sectors such as Public office, Business, Technology, Change Makers, Thinkers and Opinion Shapers, Creative and Sports influencing the communities and sectors with their inspirational work.
