Merck Foundation CEO and President of the "More Than a Mother" Campaign, Senator Dr. Rasha Kelej, has been recognized as one of the 100 most influential African women for the sixth consecutive year. This prestigious recognition is a testament to her tireless efforts towards women empowerment, girl education, and patient care landscape transformation in Africa and other developing countries.


Dr. Kelej expressed her gratitude, saying, "I am truly honoured to be recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential African Women for the sixth consecutive year." She also shared her pride in being recognized alongside exceptional women like the President of Tanzania, the President-Elect of Namibia, and the Prime Minister of DR Congo, among others.

As the CEO of Merck Foundation, Dr. Kelej has been instrumental in transforming the patient care landscape in Africa. The foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of Merck KGaA, aims to improve healthcare access and education in underserved communities.² Through the "More Than a Mother" campaign, Dr. Kelej has worked tirelessly to end the stigma against infertile women in Africa, providing scholarships and training for female doctors and empowering infertile women to become financially independent.
